Impossible? This was the realization we arrived at after months of thinking of non-political and non-geographical situations or ideas. From here, the concept of the work is that nothing, in today’s world, could really be categorized as non-political or non-geographical unless stripped out of its context, in order to realize this non-existent state.
For this project we designed, produced and used stickers as a medium that is intrusive yet playful and lighthearted. They serve as a constant yet friendly reminder, juxtaposed into daily life, to support and look out for each other, namely solidarity between women. It is highly important that this these graphics are repeated in cities in Palestine, Europe and USA. The same kind yet firm message repeated across borders, ingraining itself in the daily lives across cultures. We want that minor sense of aggression that comes from the vandalism of applying something somewhere it shouldn’t be. That sense of ‘this has forced itself to be here’ just as we sometimes need to force love into this world. And the message needed to be without a bias for borders.
